Dear Members,

As part of last night’s Annual General Meeting your new Board of Directors was announced.

I am honoured to step into the role of President of Castle Hill Country Club and would like to take this opportunity to introduce our newly elected Board of Directors.

Your Board for the 2025–2027 term is as follows:

• Vice President – Rodney Frost
• Captain – Andrew Gratland
• Vice-Captain – Brad Fasher
• Director – Justin Hatchett
• Director – Lorna O’Brien
• Director – Trent Wheeler  

On behalf of myself, Members, Management and Staff we welcome the Directors into their new roles.

As an elected Board we are genuinely humbled by the trust our members have placed in us, and we look forward to serving with commitment, transparency, and a deep respect for our Club’s traditions and future.

Before we look ahead, it’s important that we pause and acknowledge those who have guided us to this moment. Leadership is defined by dedication, integrity, and the willingness to make decisions for the greater good of the Club and we need to recognise exactly that.

To our outgoing President Charles Behrens, thank you for your exceptional leadership and unwavering commitment throughout your term of 8 years. You have steered this Club with vision and steadiness, navigating challenges, embracing opportunities, and always acting in the best interests of our members. Your contribution has left a mark that will be remembered for years to come, and on behalf of the Board and the entire membership, we offer you our sincere thanks.

To our outgoing Captain Tony Cruise, your passion and tireless work for our golfing community have made a tremendous impact. You have championed our club, our competitions and supported our players. Thank you for the countless hours you have invested, both on and off the course over the last 9 years, your efforts have enriched the experience of every golfer who calls this Club home.

And to our outgoing Director John Dakin thank you for your contribution and your commitment to the club both serving as Vice Captain and a Director for 7 years collectively.

Board service is often unseen and always demanding. You have each played a vital role in the progress we’ve made strengthening our governance, improving our facilities, and ensuring the Club remains strong, sustainable, and welcoming for future generations. Your contributions have not gone unnoticed, and we are deeply grateful.

As I step into this role, I do so knowing that I inherit a Club in excellent health thanks in no small part to all of you, our members. I also step forward with great excitement. We have opportunities ahead of us: to continue moving forward with the Strategic Plan while preserving our traditions, to invest in our course, the Course Maintenance facility and Clubhouse, and to foster an inclusive and thriving community for members of every age and ability.

I look forward to working closely with our new Board, our General Manager, our staff, and, of course, our members. Together, we will continue to shape a Club we can all be proud of.

Thank you for your ongoing support, and I look forward to an exciting period ahead.
