Improvements to the 2nd Hole

Posted on: 19 August

Dear Members,

Work commenced on the 2nd hole improvements on July 28th.

Since commencement, we have experienced only four dry working days. Unfortunately, the persistent wet weather has impacted our schedule. However, despite these challenges, we have made solid progress on the following key areas:

  • The old concrete cart paths have been removed.
  • The reconfiguration of the new cart paths has been laid out and partially formed in preparation for concrete to be poured during the week commencing August 25th.
  • Old drainage infrastructure has been removed.
  • A new drainage line running across the front of the 2nd hole has been trenched, and the old creek has been removed.
  • A new 450mm drainage pit has been installed, connecting into a 150mm pipe, along the former creek alignment, connecting old drainage lines into it.
  • Excavation of the new Black tee on the 3rd hole has been completed. Final shaping and laser levelling will be completed once weather conditions improve.

We thank you for your patience and understanding as we continue to enhance the course under challenging weather conditions. We will provide further updates as work progresses.

Warm regards,
The Captain & Course Superintendent
Castle Hill Country Club
