Women’s Match Report – Final Round, 27th March 2026
Posted on: 30 March
The final round of the 2026 season delivered every ounce of tension and determination you’d expect from a pennant decider. Cronulla arrived at Royal Sydney holding a razor‑thin lead — just half a point ahead of Castle Hill — and with no room for a tie. It was simple: win the day, win the pennant.
The teams battled swirling winds, fast greens, and fierce opponents. Every hole mattered, every putt carried weight, and every player fought with grit. Stephanie Badger, a Life Member of CHCC, was there to inspire the team, and her support was greatly appreciated.
Match Results
- Farmann – Win 7/5
- Ellie – Win 2/1
- Sinae – Loss 2/1
- Karen – Loss 2/1
- Janine – Loss 3/2
Cronulla finished 3/2 overall — a heartbreaking margin, so close but just shy of what was needed on the day. Despite the result, the team walked off the course with heads held high, proud of the fight they put up and the spirit they showed.
This Grade team embodied camaraderie, sportsmanship, and unwavering dedication from the first tee shot of the season to the last putt at Royal Sydney. Their bond was strengthened by:
- Early morning starts
- Wild, unpredictable weather
- Fantastic lunches
- Endless encouragement from teammates and opponents alike
- Friendships forged across clubs
And of course, none of it would have been possible without the caddies, who showed up week after week, cheering, supporting, and sharing every moment of the journey.
A heartfelt thank‑you goes to the clubs who welcomed the team throughout the season: Lakeside, Massey Park, Cronulla, Royal Sydney, New South Wales, and Carnarvon. Your hospitality and beautifully presented courses made each week a privilege.
Two standout achievements deserve special recognition: Farmann and Ellie were undefeated for the season and awarded a Medal from Golf NSW. Earning this medal is a remarkable accomplishment. Achieving it two seasons in a row, as Farmann did, is exceptional. The Club could not be prouder of the juniors who represented CHCC with integrity, resilience, and pride.
We now look forward to the 2027 season with renewed determination and excitement.
