Match Report – Women’s Grade Team.

Posted on: 16 February

The Women’s Grade team, led by Field Captain Karen Romer, delivered an inspiring performance at Massey Park on Friday, battling hard to secure a well earned 2½ – 2½ draw against a strong and seasoned NSW Golf Club side.

The focus of the Team talk was to “play shot for shot” and not get uptight about hitting a bad shot.

Despite facing formidable competition, the squad demonstrated fantastic resilience, teamwork, and composure under pressure.

Match Highlights

Ellie Makayev – 5/4 Victory Ellie was a formidable opponent as her putting was on point. Her dominant 5/4 win set the tone for the team. The attention on course management was key in her victory. A brilliant performance worthy of major recognition. ⭐ Farmaan Dhillon – 1UP Victory As the number one player, Farmaan was under pressure to perform. She showed exceptional grit, despite not having her usual putting prowess. In a tightly contested match, she held her nerve when it mattered most, securing a 1UP win on the 18th. A true display of poise under pressure.
Lina Wilkie – Square Lina’s match was full of anxiety. She started strongly and maintained great momentum early in her match, until an incident with a three-wood cover. Her opponent mounted a comeback, however, Lina held steady to finish square, contributing a vital half-point to the team total.
Sinae Kim Rah – Although Sinae’s nerves were high before the match, she settled into some nice golf and she was holding her own for most of the match until an errant tee shot and lost ball cost her the match.
Janine Sayer – Janine’s day did not get off to a good start and she very quickly found herself 3 down after 3 holes. However, Janine was not giving up without a fight. She clawed her way back and hitting off the 18th tee they were all square. Janine was beaten by a par.
