Installation of Defibrillators on the Course
Posted on: 24 July
Dear Members,
As part of our ongoing commitment to member safety, we are pleased to advise that Defibrillators (AEDs) have now been installed at key locations around the course.
To assist with member awareness and emergency preparedness, please see the following important information:
Accessing the Defibrillator Cabinets
A short demonstration video has been attached here, showing how to open the defibrillator cabinets. To access: Pull out and down in a short, sharp motion. This method ensures the cabinet opens quickly in an emergency. An alarm will sound when the cabinet is opened.
Defibrillator Cabinet Access Keys
Each cabinet includes an emergency-use-only key, secured inside. These open padlocks fixed to our external gates located on the 13th Fairway, 14th Green and front and back main entrances allowing emergency vehicle access to the course. Photos are below to clearly show where these keys are located within the units. These keys are to be used for emergences only.
Course Map & Emergency Vehicle Access
A Course Map can be found here and shown below indicating:
- All Defibrillator locations
- Emergency vehicle access points, including:
- The main front and rear entrances
- Castle Pines Drive (near the 13th fairway)
- Stone Mason Drive (adjacent to the 14th green)
- An emergency contact number that connects to all CHCC lines directly, bypassing the club switchboard.
Stickers with this map and emergency number have already been installed in all golf carts for quick reference.
Mike at Shield Training, has kindly shared this link to the Pennant Hills Golf Club incident, providing further context for the importance of AED access on course along with some slides used on the Member Information Evening we hosted earlier this month.
If you have any questions or would like additional clarification on any of the above, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
Thank you,
CHCC Management Team
