Women’s Pennants Report 16th June 25
Posted on: 17 June
CHCC Women’s Bronze 111 Salver Pennant team (minimum Handicap of 27) finished their season on Friday.
After a marred season with 3 games washed out it was an exciting finish @ Asquith with any of 4 teams in contention to win the silverware.
The final result went down to the last individual match in the Killara v Avondale contest.
Congratulations to Killara, who won on a countback from Asquith, who had 16 individual wins, and Pennant Hills, who had 14.5 individual wins.
Killara had 7 match points and 16.5 individual wins.
One of the CHCC team highlights was a strong win of all 5 games against Muirfield in round 5.
Unfortunately, our women’s team struggled in a strong competition and a particularly challenging season with cancellations and very tough conditions with wet, boggy courses, long rough and no carts on the course.
It was a great opportunity for new experiences & new courses for all our players.
We are all very proud of our Team who united together & supported each other.
Bronze 111 players Kerrie Hammond, Linda Chan, Chris Amery, Cindy Gao (1st Time matchplay & Pennant player), Sheila Ryan – Field Captain, Sue Follington – Field Captain, Gayle Patrick and Lyn Smith
Women’s Bronze 11 Pennant team showcased CHCC’s fabulous golf course & clubhouse on Friday when they hosted all teams.
With two more rounds to play, our Castle Hill team sits in a very tight 3rd spot, so it’s looking like another exciting run to finish.
Our team head off early to Long Reef Golf Club to play North Ryde this week.
Renuka Padmanabhan, Mina Namkoong, Marg Darcy (Field Captain), Seng Yun and Marg Smyth.
Women’s Silver 11 Pennant (minimum GA 14)
All our players left home very early in the dark & cold last Friday to take on Asquith at Mona Vale.
The team all battled hard but could only manage to get 2 games in front for the match.
Big congratulations to Jessie Yoo, who played her 1st game of Matchplay & Pennants & brought home an early win 5/3 & Dianne, who finished 2 up.
This Friday, we play our last game at Pymble, and it will be an exciting battle to see which club brings home the trophy.
Our CHCC team is one of 5 teams out of the 7 sitting on the same match point,s with only 3 games separating all 5 teams, so it’s a MUST WIN for all our games.
Players Dianne Mann, Sunok Maeng, Pam McDonald-Field Captain, Lorna OBrien and Naomi Tsunumi.
Good luck to all players, have fun and play well.
