Castle Hill Country Club to host 2024 & 2025 Webex TPS Sydney

Posted on: 14 July

Dear members,

We wrote to you in late June regarding an exciting opportunity for CHCC to be the host of the 2024 Webex TPS Sydney event from 5th to 11th February 2024.

We issued a survey to gauge members appetite to host this event.  I am pleased to announce that the Club received 431 responses, this equates to approximately 50% of the playing membership.  Thank you to all who responded.

The results were overwhelmingly in favour of hosting the tournament.  Of the 429 who answered the question (2 did not answer), 82.52% (354) agreed or strongly agreed to hold the event, 5.13% (22) neither agreed or disagreed, and the remaining 12.35% (53) disagreed or strongly disagreed – please refer graph below.

Further to this question, we asked members should CHCC host the event for 1, 2 or 3 years.  The response was strongly in favour of hosting for three years (see graph below).

As a result of the survey, the Club has accepted the PGA Tour’s request to host the tournament for 2024 & 2025, and have reserved the option to extend to 2026.

The PGA Tour has released a statement to its members as follows:

“We are pleased to inform you we have a new home for TPS Sydney with Castle Hill Golf Club to host in 2024 & 2025. With a rich history in hosting events in the past, including the Australian PGA Championship (1985 & 1986), Canon Challenge (1993, 1994, 2000, 2001) and most recently the NSW Open in 2013 and won by Aaron Price, Castle Hill is a wonderful tournament course and one we have no doubt will prove to be an extremely popular venue on the schedule for at least the next two years.”

The team is extremely excited by this opportunity to showcase our great club to the wider Australian audience. Again, thank you members for your support and stay tuned for more updates throughout the year.

Good golfing,

Brenden Ellam
General Manager
